Hello,
I am running SS7 on a Win 7 64b machine. I have some Workstation 8 VMs running on this machine. Some of the applications on the VM read and write to files in shared folders on the host machine.
I am finding in a VM (Win7 64b) that I use frequently with files on the host, that there is often a delay in reading files from the shared folder, and in saving. At times the save fails with an error message indicating the file is in use. Sometimes after failing to save the file, I get a message that the file on the host has a newer timestamp than that in the VM. At other times there is no delay.
The only thing that I can see that might be interfering with the files is the firewall. If I disable the firewall, there is no delay, and the saving is consistently quick, as was the case before SS7 was installed.
There are very few applications running on the host machine. Much of the time, it is only the VMs.
The IP address of the VM is in the range of trusted IP addresses in Zone Setup.
The folders are excluded from Antivirus scanning.
Can you suggest any other configuration options that I might be missing that will enable the VM to access the host folders without the delay. I am not an expert in the settings, and my reading of the situation may be incorrect.
TIA
Sue
