Newer v16.0 versions are intended only for Windows7/8 users. For Windows 10/11, use the latest version 16.2.13.
did this happen?

We're gonna provide you with a newer version 16.0.28 addressing the memory issue later this week, probably tomorrow.
will this include win7?

I have installed the 16.0.27.0 as well; 10 days of uptime and 500 MB of allocated memory by eguiProxy.exe
@Marcos - what to do?
Install version 15.2 from https://support.eset.com/en/kb2885
disable module updates

I stalled version 15.x for win7 and disabled the module updates - working fine

The dump was only 136 MB in size. Please create another one when private bytes in the Task manager exceed 500 MB. Also create a dump of egui.exe at that time (open it, if not running). Also note the system uptime (displayed when running "net statistics workstation" - Statistics from...
Would you be willing to try the previous v15.2 for a few days and see if the same happens? If so, you could download it from https://support.eset.com/en/kb2885 and temporarily disable feature updates in the advanced setup.
When you download the installed link to a 16.2 page and says I cannot install.
So now cannot install eset at all...

No, v16.0 is no longer being developed and has been replaced with v16.1 and v16.2 to be released soon, however, these do not support Windows 7 and 8 any more. It is possible that there will be one more build of v16.0 later this year with fixes for Win7/8 users, however.
Did
a build for win7 get released?
What is the last working version before the memory leak was added?
thanks

As an interim on win7 - downlaod ProcessHacker this will kill the EsetProxyGui process
still need a fix though or i'll have to ditch Eset
-
I am having th same problem with win7 - esetproxygui is running at 1.3gig and rising. I have 3 machines running on win7 and eset.
Please release a fix!
-
its gone now - asking me to "upgrade" to the internet security package, I use eset AV. had it on 2 machines now
checked settings on both machines...and marketing disabled
-
Why am I getting Marketing spam from Eset even when I have them disabled?
Anyone?
thanks

I am suddenly getting the above message - not changed anything, not messed around with the windows firewall at all.
Tried reboot and the message vanished for a few minutes then came back...
any ideas?
thanks

I'll get one, think they are about buying Eset password storage software

Even the latest version 14.0.22 installs on Windows 7 SP1 with SHA-2 support. We do not plan to block installation on Windows 7 any time soon. However, you should keep in mind that the OS will become more and more vulnerable to attacks without the necessary security updates that Microsoft stopped to provide for this OS.
Oh right - but will I get nagging messages every 10 mins?
thanks for the reply

I have found out that Eset will not be supporting Win 7 after Dec 2020 (emailed support). I have many machines running Win7 that I will not the downgrading to Windows 10 for the foreseeable future.
Can anyone recommend an AV product that will still support Win7 in 2021?
Thanks

Same here... quite shoddy.
-
But why? More cr#p running in the background.
I simply disable the service - Nod32 AV didn't complain on reboot.

Has anyone got a copy of the Nod32 AV10.0.390 offline installer please?
Since 10.1.xx mine win7 machines are failing on definition updates.
Quite apt really as I was getting a popup every few days telling me that a new version was available for free that was much better than version 9... oh the irony.
thanks
Edit: Found the offline installer version 390 and can confirm this fixes the problems I was having.

Same problem here with 2 windows 7 computers 64bit. On mine whilst it is failing to do the update it cuts of my internet, the internet connection becomes live again once I close the update process manually.
Has anyone got the Nod32 AV10.0.390 offline installer please?

Hello
Am I correct that you are blaming NOD32 for your download speed? Hard to believe.
Have you checked again lately?
Hard to believe? He showed that once removed the speed was once again normal.
On my 2 computers the virus definition update is not working properly and complete blocks the internet until the update is manually cancelled.
SUSPECTED MEMORY LEAK egui.proxy.exe !!! Why does this process continually run?
