no it doesn't slow down download and it doesn't slow down the speed it becomes written on the disk either so it doesn't modify the files in any way?

hello I am currently backing up DRM free games from GOG on my external HDD and I want to ask, since I know the installers are virus free should I disable eset before downloading them and putting on my HDD? what happens to the files when they are automatically scanned upon being downloaded? yes I'm perhaps a bit paranoid thanks
