  1. Hi, I just re-installed Windows 10 and ESET IS (latest) and decided to take a quick look at the Running Processes Tool. I noticed an unknown item called "system", is this normal? I don't recall seeing it before.
  2. Just happened on two other machines. Can I trust it or not? The indication gives me the feeling it's stuck/corrupt like a Windows update. They also got 'stuck' at different numbers. 56/137 62/137 What gives?
  3. Mine was stuck at "downloading 49kb / 0kb" for a long time so I pressed cancel, but it asked me to restart anyway. Says I'm on .390 but how can I be sure it isn't bodged or corrupt?
  4. What's the best way to upgrade from Smart Security V9 to Internet Security V10? Would the default uninstall from Windows Control Panel be enough or will it leave traces behind that will conflict with the new version? I've got a few systems to do this to, I'd rather not waste the weekend resolving something I could have avoided! Thanks!
  5. Work policy says I must have a second opinion malware scanner so I chose Emsisoft Emergency Kit 12. If anyone has experience with it, what can you recommend is the best method of ensuring compatibility with ESET Internet Security/Smart Security 10? Would you exclude the entire EEK folder which includes the exe's and the dll's or is excluding just the exe's fine? And in which places would you exclude from? Just the Antivirus settings or should it also be done under Protocol Filtering? Similarly which ESET processes should be excluded from EEK? Just egui.exe or are there others?
  6. Just tested another machine running ESET Smart Security (other machine runs Internet Security) and Chrome, the update to v56 failed again. The components seemed to have been updated at some point on their own though.
  7. Yes, I always check to make sure I can view https websites and the root cert is imported.
  8. Had issues updating to Chrome v56, it would just fail to connect. I uninstalled and re-installed Chrome eventually as a workaround (So I'm unsure then if SSL Filtering was the problem there). But I found out today that navigating to chrome://components and attempting to update Flash etc. also has connection issues, pressing check update buttons causes the status to say downloading component but nothing happens. Turning off ESET SSL Filtering fixes the issue, all components connect and download instantly. Seems I'm always having trouble with your SSL Filtering feature. Is it really nessesary? What happens if I just leave it disabled? What other features depend on it? I should add I always check to make sure the cert is imported and test https connections.
  9. Usually MicrosoftEdge.exe and MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe get added to SSL filtering automatically, but for some reason only MicrosoftEdgeCP.exe is being added. I did have SSL scanning disabled when I launched Edge for the first time. Is there a way to get ESET to find MicrosoftEdge.exe?
  10. Sorry for being impatient, but I need my systems for work. I've tried contacting support prior to opening this topic and have no response. Just to clarify, the "initial scan" runs before EIS finishes updating its signatures. Is there a way to delay or manually initiate the initial scan?
  11. I've tried another machine, same problem. I'm concerned about the white listing now, I'm surprised there appears to be no option to reset and rerun. A reinstall obviously won't work here, since initial scan wins the race every time. What can be done about this? I can't use Eset unless I trust it, right now I don't, not if it is optimizing itself on old signatures. No problems on my end, 100mb/s connection, i7 6600, fresh Windows install. Is smart scan the same as initial scan? I ran a smart scan and it takes 8 seconds, the initial scan takes about 5 minutes.
  12. The update is 70mb, takes about 20 seconds to install but the initial scan starts immediately, about 5 seconds after activation. I always download the installer fresh before installing, but it seems signatures are not bundled. Does it mean my initial scans are using no signatures? And there is no way to manually re-run this whitelist scan? In V9 I think it was called "first scan" or something, you could just re-run it in the scheduler. Edit... If it uses none, or old signatures, how do I know its not white listing malware?
  13. The initial scan always seems to run before ESET finishes updating after install, so won't that mean ESET ran the scan with outdated signatures? Since the scan claims to optimize future scanning, can this be re-run to make sure it use up to date signatures? You could do this with V9 in the task scheduler, but its been removed in V10?
  14. If I do an update rollback this fixes the problem, so does that mean it's a bad virus signature update from ESET? Unfortunately re-downloading the update causes the problem again.
  15. Anytime I visit Amazon and other sites ESET blocks so many links, such as CloudFront and AmazonTrust... Even visiting the ESET Forum causes a lot of link blocks... It's been fine for months, I haven't changed anything. I have SSL Scanning disabled.
  16. Spotlight works OK without EIS installed, but when installed the image doesn't update. Could there be a firewall rule causing this?
  17. Hi, I've had the multi-device license for a long time now, which I believe is for Smart Security on PC? I noticed a poorly written message on the ESET website that suggests Internet Security replaces Smart Security, does that mean the Smart Security license will work with Internet Security? I just very recently renewed my multi-device license, but I didn't notice there were changes to the products before proceeding. I'll be dissapointed if not, should I seek a refund in that case?
