  1. Good news!!! It updated form 14390 to 14391. I thus consider my problem as solved. Twokatmew - I had the same problem, and as I wrote above, uninstalling using the ESETUninstaller (see link above) solved the problem. But I followed the instructions as they are (i.e. running it from simple "Safe mode"). Thanks to Marcos and "User" for the help even though a different path had worked. Uzi
  2. I didn't try that, but ... Anyway, it seems to me that by now there is a good chance that the virus database update problem is solved. I still have to confirm this, once there is an update to the database. Analysis: Simply upgrading or uninstalling the software in the usual way did not really removed it, even though it claimed to. It was claimed to be removed successfully, but the ekrn process was still running after the restart. Only the use of ESET's EsetUninstaller truly removed it (do read the instructions before using it). After that, I reinstalled, activated and now it came with the recent version of the database. I'll check later to see if it is updated, and let you know. Thanks.
  3. I installed Winshark, but when trying to execute it, I get "error 0xc000007b". Tried to uninstall and then redownload and reinstall but no help. Tried to see if there is a solution on the Internet, and found that it can be a result of too many possibilities. By the way, my computer runs fine and had no problems. other than those two. I have also noticed that the last date of "successful update" (27 october which is later than the date of the 14260 virus signature by a few weeks) is also the date I upgraded to version 10 of ESET antivirus. So that it might be that this is the version that came with it, and that, since this software update, it can no longer find updates. I will now try to uninstall and also remove data of ESET and then reinstall.
  4. I have NOD32 version 10.0.369.0 on Windows 7 64bit with the latest security updates from Microsoft (via windows update). It claims that I have the latest data update, and that there is no new update, but the version that I have is almost 3 weeks old. version 14260. I use the update, it tells me that there is no new version, and that I have the latest. No error messages during update check. Tried to define as no proxy, tried to uninstall and reinstall. No help. Tried to reset cache - no help. Hope for a solution.
