Some Windows servers, but mostly Windows 10 Pro machines.
Some machines run client-server programs. For example, some machines have a utility for network scanning (Konica), which is blocked by default.
The question is: with firewall disabled, IDS/botnet protection is active or not?
Thank you.

The firewall allows all outbound communication and blocks all non-initiated communication in automatic mode. Couldn't it be that you have installed ESET Endpoint Security on a server where server applications are installed and applications on other client computers communicate with them? On servers you should install ESET Endpoint Security which contains Network protection but not the firewall.
Hello,
The software installed is ESET Endpoint Security and most certainly has a firewall by default.

Hello,
Searched the documentation a bit but could not find an answer.
Product: ESET PROTECT EntryProblem
I find the firewall by default blocks way too many programs and connections, so the firewall gets the boot.
Question
With the firewall disabled, the IDS/botnet protection is still active?
Thank you.
Firewall required for IDS/Botnet protection?
