  1. I was able to add my second desktop to the list and eventually my primary desktop, which I am now using, to the list. The problem is that I have some special characters in the computer names which ESET does not allow. If the computer name does not correspond to the name on ESET's device list, how can it keep things in sync?

  2. Today my licenses were automatically renewed. Along with the renewal notice I received a noticed that I had ESET installed on more computers than I have licenses. I have 4 licenses and 4 computers so I don't know how ESET came up with this so I went to the "HOME Portal". When I looked at the devices list I found a real mess. At the top and indicated as "Protected" was my newest laptop which I had not used in several days. Below that was a series of "DEVICES SUGGESTED FOR CONNECTION". My old laptop appeared there three times under various spellings of its name none of which were accurate. My primary desktop appeared twice, again under various spellings none of which were accurate. My other desktop appeared there with the proper spelling. I see no way of deleting these erroneous entries in this list. How can I clean up this mess?

  3. This morning whenever I go to some web sites (especially PayPal), I am getting a popup from NOD32 indicating that a web site is trying to communicate with paypalobjects.com which has an untrusted certificate. Even if I allow it, the message continues until I allow it numerous times and the PayPal website ends up totally messed up. How can this be fixed?

  5. Hi Marcos,

I used Nirsoft's RegScanner to find the instances of NOD32 in the Registry and I deleted most of them including a "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AV\ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2" folder which contained an "update.exe" file. I suspect that might have been created by the Windows 10 install that thought NOD32 v4.2 was still somehow installed and needed to be upgraded. I don't see any "C:\Program Files\Common Files\AV" folder on my new Windows 10 laptop with NOD32 v9 installed.

    Thanks for your help,

  6. Hi Marcos,

I don't think you understood my issue. I uninstalled NOD32 v4 before upgrading my system to Windows 10. I went with Windows Defender instead after the upgrade since this is a little used system. I don't understand why I am receiving messages about NOD32 v4 when it no longer exists on the system?

  7. I used to have NOD32 v4 on an old laptop. I uninstalled it before installing Windows 10 and went with Windows Defender since this is now basically a test system. However, every once in a while I am getting a notification popup saying that there is a newer version of NOD32 available. Since I uninstalled NOD32 and see no folders left from it, I don't know where this is being generated. How can I kill these messages?

    Thanks,

      JohnD
