  1. We've had ESET Endpoint running on user machines well for some time now. However, as a business we use Dropbox for sharing files. A new feature of Dropbox is smartsync, which our administrators are currently testing.

Dropbox completely locks up when creating smartsync files. I finally narrowed this down to ESET. With ESET enabled smartsync will take about 2 hours to synchronise/create 100 files using smartsync. With ESET disabled it takes approx 30 seconds during which Dropbox is fully responsive. I tested adding an exclusion in ESET on my machine. Dropbox immediately fully responsive with fast syncs.

Advanced Setup -> Computer -> Antivirus and Antispyware -> Exclusions by path. I added %userprofile%\Dropbox (Business)\*

However, excluding the folder where our teams work on the vast majority of their files seems a little silly. I'm wondering if there is a better, and less blanket, approach to fixing this issue. Perhaps it relates to the way the files are created or the types of files they are?
