  1. Hi,

I just noticed that some of my Computers I just added to my AD weren't being synced.

The job was running just fine, but the trace log says they were skipped.

Was this changed in 6.5? I was sure I could add Computers and sync them instantly after with 6.4.

I don't want it to filter them out. How do I change this?

The link on the german site only has the installer .rpm.bin, no .ova / appliance ;)

  3. Hi,

just as a feedback. It took me more than an hour to find the latest version of the ESLC Appliance.

I usually donwload my ESET Software from the german ESET site (https://www.eset.com/de/download/business/), just because I had that bookmarked.

I couldn't find a download for the appliance on that site at all, so I went to google it and found this KB article: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3694/?viewlocale=en_US

Only to find that the link to download the ova in that article is out of date and only downloads version 1.0.16.0.

I only found the download, because I luckily stumbled upon the "international" version of the eset site

Also the link under "Upgrade to Latest Version" in the version 1.2.5 announcement post is broken.

  4. My static groups are synced from AD, yes

    First example:

I have a group of around 20 Computers, which need a certain different policy because of what they are used for.

Those computers are in different OUs from eachother and cannot be filtered into a dynamic group by any of the provided dynamic group rules, except for the "Computer -> Computer" Rule, which is very tedious to use, because you have every computer one by one.

Those computers are already in a AD group to apply certain group policies, so a dynamic template rule based on an AD group would make my life much easier in this case. Just being able to add multiple computers at once would be acceptable.

    Second example:

I want to create a dynamic group, which has ALL computers, which have a certain version of a software installed to automate a software update task - except for the computers in a certain AD OU, the corresponding static ERA group or a computername mask.

I know I could create dynamic groups with different parent groups, but in my case that would mean I would have to create 5 dynamic groups with the same template and different parent groups, which is not something that sounds reasonable to me.

  5. Hi,

I am missing the option to create filters for a dynamic group based on the computer being a member of a static group / AD group / AD OU or just a computer name mask.

I did find the Computer -> Computer filter, which lets me chose single computers from the list, but this is already very tedious for a dynamic group with only around 20 members, since I had to add a new rule for each computer.

I also need to filter out a group of around 250+ computers, which would be easy to do by static group / AD OU (AD & ERA are synchronized) or a computer name mask, as their names all start the same way.

Is there any way to accomplish this right now or anything planned for a future update?

  6. Hi,

I updated an Endpoint Antivirus and Endpoint Security Client from 6.4 to 6.5 to try it out.

The first thing I see is a big reg warning, telling me that I should enable ESET LiveGrid.

I run an ERA 6.5 Server and have knowingly disabled LiveGrid via Policy. But now those clients also show up in the ERA Server with a red Warning and a "Security Risk".

I have no intention of activating LiveGrid. How do I disable this Message in the Client and Server?

  7. Sorry maybe I misunderstood. From the first reply it seemed to be an Issue with the ERA Server.

Is it an Issue with the Agent installed on the Machine running ESET 5?

If that's the case. Which Version would have the fix I need for it to not happen? I run the latest Version I could get from the ESET Download Site, which is 6.4.283.0.

I do have the proxy configured and I'm sure it works, because all the ESET 6 Clients I install, automatically activate through the proxy without them having a direct internet connection.

I have the same proxy settings in 2 policies

Policy for Eset Security Product -> Tools -> Proxy Server

Policy for Eset Remote Administrator Agent -> Advanced Settings -> HTTP Proxy

    Use proxy server    ✔
    Apply    Host        pxcsw-av
    Apply    Port         3128

Apply    Use direct connection if HTTP proxy is not available: ✔

There are a handful or errors in my Tracelog

  8. Hi,

We're in the process of migrating from ESET 5 to 6. I have pretty much everything configured now and wanted to go to the next Stage - which is roll out the agent to all clients.

Here's my Problem though. My Clients all still run ESET 5. I have an Update task, that should update every 15 Minutes. I have set the Policy for ERA Agent to connect every 5 Minutes.

Upon Installation of the ERA Agent the connection interval for ESET 5 Clients is set to 1 Minute and every time that happens, it also runs the update task.

ESET 6 Clients are fine with the exact same policies.

We have around 400 Clients and I just don't want them to hammer my Update Server / Mirror with 400 useless requests every Minute.

Any known way to fix this?
