  1. Honestly, I'm not exactly sure who (if anyone) or what can be blamed for the issue. ESET Internet Protection Module 1226.6 was released on the 5th of January without any issues, until OS X 10.11.3 was released late Tuesday. It seems something with the OS X update caused a conflict with our IPM but I don't think this is something either company could have foreseen. It just happened and it's easier to fix on our end, so we did. :)

Not the OS X update. I haven't updated to the latest OS X update yet since I read it was problematic. So I'm still on 10.11.2, and everything was fine until Smart Security told me that there was an OS X update that I needed apply. I decided not to update since I knew it was a problematic update, therefore I asked Smart Security not to bother me anymore with it. Lo and behold I lost connectivity and I had to uninstall Eset to regain access. Everything is back to normal. So it seems like Smart Security punished me for ignoring its advice ;)
