Remote agent install - certificates error

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to install "ESET Remote Administrator VAgentHost Installer" but every time I got the following:

initctl: Unknown job: eravagenthost
2016-11-01 08:12:26 Getting certificate from server...
2016-11-01 08:12:26 ./vagenthost-linux-x86_64.sh: : Error occured while getting certificates from server
I am using Proxmox and Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS as container.
I tried to install earlier and everything was successful but http proxy did not work ( tracelog: error getting file or something like that...about meta file with error code 0 ). Tried all possible solution to make it work, but repsidory only shows up when I disable http proxy.
So I decided to reinstall everything from scratch (fresh Ubuntu server, fresh Eset install...).

- MySQL database installed and configured (max_allowed_packet etc)
- edited /etc/odbcinst.ini
- Installed ERA  server
- Imported/changed certificate from old server (I already have Windows server, but I wont fresh install on Linux). Server settings -> connection -> Change certificate
- error during agent occured

version: OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014

I followed all the instructions:
- exported all certificate (peer and auth) - tested and first I got error that PFX cert is not valid or password is incorrect (I am not using pw)
- after server restart I am getting error: Error occured while getting certificates from server
I have tried with certificate from the old server and tried also from new server. Tried all possible solution that I found on internet, but everytime I got this error.

Hello Ivan79,

Are you using ESET Virtualization Security for VMware in your environment? As that would be the only reason to use the Virtual Agent Host application. The Virtual Agent Host is used for the agentless protected vms.
As for the http proxy issue, I would refer to the proxy log file in /var/log.

Currently, how many ERA components are installed on your Ubuntu Server?

Best,

EricJ
