TomFace 539 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 My HitmanPro found Gen.Win32.FileInfector!IK in my Windows Temp file this morning on my daily scan. Looked to have picked up this morning (I do not visit risky sites-so unsure how). Anyway, can anyone tell me anything about it? Hitman Pro did delete it-doing other scans as I type. Thanks, Sincerely,
Administrators Marcos 5,444 Posted September 14, 2013 Administrators Posted September 14, 2013 Please submit the file to ESET as per the instructions here. Without analyzing the file, it's impossible to tell whether it's actual malware, clean file or non-functional (corrupt) file.
TomFace 539 Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 (edited) Marcos, thanks-sending you a PM. Edited September 14, 2013 by TomFace
SweX 871 Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 I think it's an FP the "IK" means that it is the Ikarus AV engine that detected it, although HitmanPro no longer use the Ikarus engine in the cloud, they still have kept Ikarus sigs in around so Ikarus may still detect stuff. I would also post this in the HitmanPro thread on Wilders.
TomFace 539 Posted September 14, 2013 Author Posted September 14, 2013 yes Ikarus did find it-trying to find my Wilders sign in info-UGH!

TomFace 539 Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 (edited) You can find instructions how to password protect a rar archive here for instance. Thank you Marcos. After checking with Hitman support, it appears it was a "true false item". I still may submit it. And thanks again to SweX for his help. Edited September 29, 2013 by TomFace
