roga 2
I see that there are separate entries for "Eset Security Product" and "Eset File Security for Windows Server" on the policy tab. If I set some options in tools and gui for "Eset Security Product" and assign it to a group, will this also apply to EFS clients in that group? ESET Staff Solution MichalJ 434 Posted September 29, 2016 ESET Staff Solution Share Posted September 29, 2016 Hello, nope. In order to configure product settings for "ESET File Security 6 for Microsoft Windows Server", you have to choose corresponding settings in policy which is in the selector named as "ESET File Security for Windows Server (V6+)". roga 2
Not sure I like the answer, but at least it is clear: looks like I have to set 2 policies to do more or less the same thing!
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted September 29, 2016 ESET Staff Share Posted September 29, 2016 I do completely understand your point. In the long term, we would like to get to the model / concept you are talking about, meaning that we would like to enable our users to configure "similar settings" among multiple products, within one policy. However, it is not possible within the current product architecture, but it is planned in the long term. Just out of curiosity, which settings you are willing to configure, to be same among Endpoints / File Servers? Thank you.

We are running some windows remote desktop servers to which thin clients connect. Effectively we want the same options on these servers as our win 7 clients. Initially this will include some changes to the GUI, e.g. suppressing windows update messages, setting eset warnings to critical and above, forcing presentation mode off, hiding the splash sceen etc. Also setting email notifications. I also want to set a once a week full system scan. As I get to know ver 6 a bit better I may want to adjust other settings such as email and http settings. Because we are using remote desktop servers, we pretty much need the same options as we would have on windows clients.
