ESET Online Scanner crashes during a scan

Recommended Posts

When I run ESET Online Scanner it crashes about 67% of the way through the scan. The GUI becomes unresponsive, the progress bars all turn black. Windows does not know the scanner is crashed until you try to close its window.

Normally, I would not post since this seems to be a common issue recently. However, ESET discovered 6 "threats" before it crashed.

I'm having same problem.

Error in Windows 10 log when running online scanner (Windows 10 64bit Anniversary Update plus all updates)
I retried online scanner with my anti-malware (webroot) software disabled, and same result. I also tried it on another different Windows 10 Home PC and same error.
Is there a fix?

Considering the number of posts with this exact issue, I have a feeling it is a bug introduced in the latest version. With that said, I sincerely hope there is a fix soon.
