In personal firewall, IDS and advanced options, packet inspection, is covert data in ICMP protocol detection ticked by default? Somebody gave me their eset settings and had it ticked...which prevents Nvidia checking for updates. When I untick that the updates work. Is it really important to have it ticked?

you could add IP addresses of Nvidia servers to Addresses excluded from active protection (IDS) or untick the detection from the IDS.

This channel is not commonly used by malware nowadays.

Thanks for the reply, I tried to but unfortunately they change using different ip addresses. I will just untick it I guess.
