kit 2
I have a user that is reporting high cpu usage with the ekrn.exe process. The ekrn.exe process seems to get stuck between 30-75% CPU usage and never lets go. What's the best way to go about troubleshooting CPU usage with the ekrn.exe process to figure out what is going on? Administrators Marcos 4,198 Posted August 21, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 21, 2016 In the case of high CPU utilization, start off by temporarily disabling real-time protection and see if the problem goes away. If so, re-enable it and create a Process Monitor .

What's the best way to go about analyzing the file?
kit 2
This issue is coming up again for more users. What is the best way to figure out why ESET is using so much CPU? The ProcMon log file has a ton of information, but not sure the best way to read it to understand what is going on. Administrators Marcos 4,198 Posted October 17, 2016 Administrators Share Posted October 17, 2016 If temporarily disabling real-time protection actually makes a difference, compress the Procmon log, upload it to a safe location and pm me the download link.
