I've tried everything else in this thread and in the following thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/1090-problem-updating-eset-smart-security-error-creating-file/ And nothing has worked so far. In the meantime I'm getting endless "Your computer is *NOT* safe" popups that make running other programs difficult because the popups brute-force them into being minimized.
