ESET v8 firewall settings transfer to ESET v10+?

I know that if you install 9 on top of 8 it will preserve firewall rule settings. My question is, can this be applied to future versions as well? Like say 10 on top of 8 instead of 9 (version jump).

That should be possible. Of course, we cannot guarantee now that it will also work with future versions that will be released in a couple of years.
