It is possible to install Endpoint Security V6 with Firewall disabled by default?

Hi there,

 

Just wondering if there are any options we can use to install Endpoint Security V6 with firewall disabled by default?

I know that it's possible to set it to one of the modes via CFG_EPFW_MODE, but there doesn't seems to be an option to disable it altogether.

Also Remote Administrator can have a default policy to disable the firewall, but the customer I'm working doesn't like the brief network disruption from services such as VNC after deploying Endpoint Security.

That's not possible. However, we assume the brief network disruption won't be a problem in future versions of Endpoint Security. You could try temporarily installing ESS v10 beta to see if this change will really help in future versions of Endpoint too.

However, ESET Endpoint Security allows component based installation. So you can install EFSW without the firewall functionality at all.
