RyanTsai 3
Hi there, Just wondering if there are any options we can use to install Endpoint Security V6 with firewall disabled by default? I know that it's possible to set it to one of the modes via CFG_EPFW_MODE, but there doesn't seems to be an option to disable it altogether. Also Remote Administrator can have a default policy to disable the firewall, but the customer I'm working doesn't like the brief network disruption from services such as VNC after deploying Endpoint Security. Thanks in advance!
Administrators Marcos 4,693 Posted June 28, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 28, 2016 That's not possible. However, we assume the brief network disruption won't be a problem in future versions of Endpoint Security. You could try temporarily installing ESS v10 beta to see if this change will really help in future versions of Endpoint too.
ESET Staff Solution MichalJ 430 Posted June 29, 2016 ESET Staff Solution Share Posted June 29, 2016 However, ESET Endpoint Security allows component based installation. So you can install EFSW without the firewall functionality at all. For more details please refer to the product documentation: - local installation: hxxp://help.eset.com/ees/6/en-US/index.html?installation_username.htm - remote installation via ERA 6: hxxp://help.eset.com/ees/6/en-US/index.html?installation_via_era_command.htm
