micha_1989 0
Hi, since yesterday we have problems with several PCs in our network. I've found out that the ekrn.exe is responsible for an CPU usage from 60-100% and that it belongs to ESET. - We use Eset Endpoint Security 5 and 6. The problem occures on both versions. - All clients are up to date (v13369)- After restarting the machines it helped only temporary - All systems running on Win7 64-Bit- I also reinstalled a few clients and it helped so far...but we have a bit more machine so it's not a good solution Must be a general problem since it happens on nearly every machine? bbraunstein 27
Which versions of EES do you have deployed to your computers ? Was the spike in CPU during a scan or just standalone ? If it was an in-depth scan, you could try lowering the scan type.
micha_1989 0
We have Version 6.2.2021.2 and on some machines we still have 5.x. I really can't explain the spike in CPU due to there where no scans etc. running. But it's striking that the problem occured at the same time on every machine so maybe there was an update causing this problem?
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,161 Posted April 22, 2016 ESET Moderators Share Posted April 22, 2016 Hello, please restart the affected machines and in case the issue persists please create a procdump from ekrn and send me a download link to it via private message, we will check it. Regards, P.R.
