j-gray 44 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 On Windows server, the Apache cache (C:\ProgramData\Apache HTTP Proxy\cache) folder seems to be growing excessively. Currently, it's about 12GB in size and close to 1,500 folders. Is there a means or method to safely clean up this folder and reduce the size? Thank you.
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted March 21, 2016 ESET Staff Posted March 21, 2016 Hello, if you install apache http proxy using all-in-one installer, cleanups will be automatically enabled. For further analysis, please send us contents of cache htcacheclean –and C:/ProgramData/Apache HTTP Proxy/cache Thanks, Michal
j-gray 44 Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean by, "contents of cache htcacheclean". Is that a folder or file? If so, where it it located?

ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted March 22, 2016 ESET Staff Posted March 22, 2016 @bbahes - On Virtual appliance, cleanup is enabled by default. @j-gray - you will locate htcacheclean in "bin" directory, where http proxy is installed
Solution j-gray 44 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Solution Posted March 22, 2016 Thanks. I found this KB article. I missed the fact that the Apache cache config required multiple manual commands to completely configure. So I created the recommended scheduled task and ran it. Cache size is down to 2GBs. Much better. ...and just a heads-up; there are multiple syntax errors in the commands provided in that KB. I'm sure it would alleviate some frustration if it were corrected.
