Skynet 0 Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 Hello, I'm trying to install ESET on some new iPhone 5s, I've followed these KB article: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb5771/?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US I can open the enrollment link, but after the question "Do you trust...." the installation fails with "Profile could not be installed". Is there something missing in the KB article? How can I get it work?
Former ESET Employees foneil 342 Posted March 21, 2016 Former ESET Employees Posted March 21, 2016 Can you verify that the HTTPS certificate was assigned to the iOS MDM policy in part II? Regarding the KB article, the only thing I *think* is missing, is in the screenshot Figure 4-1, the certificate should be shown in the HTTPS certificate section.
Skynet 0 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Posted March 22, 2016 I've also tried this before, doesn't help. Are there any prerequirements I have to do on the iPhone? I haven't found any.
ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted March 22, 2016 ESET Staff Posted March 22, 2016 Hello, this can be caused by multiple issues. Mostly there is a mismatch between the HTTPS certificate hostname and configured hostname in MDMCore Settings. Theoretically, port 9981 is not reachable by the mobile device. If you want to know more, please configure the MDMCore logging level in MDMCore policy to "debug" and then send us the trace log from the time when unsuccessful enrollment attempt occurred.
Solution Skynet 0 Posted March 22, 2016 Author Solution Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) Ok, got it! Thanks! Created another MDC and after using the DNS Name and not the * like in Figure 2.2, it works! I've tried that before, but there must be another mistake last time. Edited March 22, 2016 by Skynet
Skynet 0 Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) One more question: Ok, now I got the profile installed, but I can't do anything with it, the status didn't change into "managed". There is no agent to be installed, I can't find any KB or manual for it, that's really annoying! Following the KB article: VII. Activate iOS MDM product using ERA Product activation task After completing parts I – VI above, the device will appear in the Computers section of ESET Remote Administrator under Lost & Found and will automatically be added to the dynamic group Mobile devices → iOS devices. --> No, it doesn't work like this here. ESET Staff MichalJ 434 Posted March 24, 2016 ESET Staff Posted March 24, 2016 Hello, can you please check programdata folder for ESET Mobile Device connector and locate status.html for Agent / MDMCore/Proxy ? If anything is shown as "red" and not green, it might indicate a problem. However for the first sight, we recommend creating a support ticket.
Skynet 0 Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) Looks everything fine, that's why I don't understand that's not working!
