Administrators Marcos 5,242 Posted February 5, 2016 Administrators Share Posted February 5, 2016 With v9 you should be protected against ransomware as well as other threats to maximum extent. For information about technologies employed by ESET, please refer to hxxp://static3.esetstatic.com/fileadmin/Images/INT/Docs/Other/ESET-Technology-Overview.pdf. samchoy 0
if we are using lower version of NOD32 but updated its virus database to the latest, can we be protected from Ransomeware?
Administrators Marcos 5,242 Posted March 17, 2016 Administrators Share Posted March 17, 2016 Yes and no, it depends on several factors. With ESET Smart Security, you'd be protected even better as its network scanner can block malicious communication at the network level as well. samchoy 0
We have site license. We can install ESET Smart Security as well. Should we use ESET Smart Secuirty instead of NOD32 version 9 for better protection? If yes, what version of ESET Smart Security should we use for better protection against virus, malware especially ransomeware?

It protects better against Filecoders as its network scanner can block communication with attacker's servers and thus prevent encryption. As for Endpoint Security, this functionality is present only in Endpoint Security v6, not in v5.

ESET Moderators TomasP 318 Posted October 17, 2016 ESET Moderators Share Posted October 17, 2016 Hello lemon866, The "next generation" term was regarding our business products, thus version 7 (ESET Endpoint Security 7 and ESET Endpoint Antivirus 7). As for home products, the feature is already present in v10, which is available on some markets since a few weeks ago and will be released globally soon.
