reijken01 0
I had a very good working ESET NOD32 antivirus only working scanner. Now I upgraded to ESET Smart Security and run in to problems at several areas: - Windows security center does not recognize the virus scanner anymore and claimes there is only a malware engine installed and worse - The Hips engine utterly fails THANK ESET not HAPPY i have it on several machines which have NO VIRUSSES or MALWARE (Vista 64 and 32) I Need help and call your support tommorow first. I am a very paranoia Guy.
Administrators Marcos 5,273 Posted January 26, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 26, 2016 The problem with WSC may lie outside of ESET as it used to happen in the past that the system WMI database got corrupted and had to be rebuilt (e.g. hxxp://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2014/08/08/wmi-repository-corruption-or-not.aspx). To force registration to WSC, delete the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESET\ESET Security\CurrentVersion\Info\WscState in safe mode. Be careful when editing the registry as deleting inappropriate keys or values may render your Windows non-functional. As for HIPS, I really don't get your statement. It's too vague and you didn't mention a single issue that you have encountered with it.
