HolgerK2 0
Hello everyone, we're having a massive problem concerning the distribution of the ERA agent in our local company network. We tried the two main options: 1) Distribution via ESET Remote Administrator, which reported: 1.1) Task finished successfully (but the Windows event log shows, that the installation failed) 1.2) Failed to synchronize package repository (GetFile: Error reading HTTP response data (0x4e2a)) 2) Distribution via MSI package and .mst file, which apparently fails because of missing authorizations (this is the end of the file, full log available on request). === Logging stopped: 08/01/2016 11:40:58 === MSI (s) (C0:6C) [11:40:58:091]: Note: 1: 1708 MSI (s) (C0:6C) [11:40:58:093]: Product: ESET Remote Administrator Agent -- Installation failed. The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is accessed as a substitute drive. Not the case, I even tried to install from a local path on the target computer. The SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to. You notice the error message because the Windows Installer service uses the SYSTEM account to install software.I checked all permissions and gave full control to the SYSTEM account. Does anybody have any idea of how to solve this problem? Maybe similar experiences? Please let me know, we cannot afford installating the agent manually on every computer. Administrators Marcos 5,397 Posted January 11, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2016 What about deploying Agent live installer via GPO? As for error 1603, this is a generic error and it'd also occur even if you attempted to install agent manually, could you confirm? As for the error "GetFile: Error reading HTTP response data (0x4e2a)", I can't find its meaning but a colleague of mine might chime in and provide more info. ESET Staff MartinK 384 Posted January 11, 2016 ESET Staff Share Posted January 11, 2016 Could you be more specific about step 1.1? Have you tried to install AGENT manually without mst? In case you used "Remote installation task", have you provided credentials for local administrator account? If you want we can take a look at complete installation log, because actual installation failure is not visible in attached part - you can PM it to Marcos or me. All ERA installation and deployment tasks require synchronization with ESET packages repository prior to actual installation. Synchronization means downloading multiple metadata files from hxxp://repository.eset.com/v1/. Could you please verify you have access to this host? Are you using HTTP proxy that could possibly block connection?
