Locking the "Remote Administrator Agent" behind a password ?

Hi,

I am testing with the new ESET v6 and was wondering how i could lock the "Remote Administrator Agent" behind a password.

I know i can lock the ESET Endpoint Security appcliation behind a password which is working fine but i want to the same with the Remote Administrator Agent app.

I want to prevent that people can uninstall or change settings in the Remote Administrator Agent app.

Anyone know how to do this? I can not find it anywhere

Agent is protected by self-defense if Endpoint is installed. Without knowing the password to unlock settings, it's not possible to uninstall agent. Its configuration can only be changed via an ERA policy.

Marcos,

Thank you for your reply.

That doesn't seem to work. I can still uninstall the Remote Administrator Agent (RAA) from my Windows 10 laptop.

We do all have administrator rights so we can uninstall the RAA if we want.

The password protection for the ESET Endpoint Security v6.x application works perfectly. We can not uninstall this app because it asks for a password. We would like the same with the RAA app.

How can we achieve this?

This query is being raised by many of our customers. If the end user uninstalls the Eset Agent, it wont be connecting any more with the ERA.

Exactly why i want to know how to prevent end users to be able to uninstall the Ese Agent app.

Just like how we can prevent the end user of uninstalling the Eset Enpoint Security app (because it is protected with a password).

Hello,

there is currently no way how to prevent users with administrator privileges from uninstalling ERA Agents. Password protection (inspired by endpoint) will be available in next version (6.3) planed for early Q1/2016 release.

That is indeed some good news!

Thank you for sharing this information.

We are looking forward to try the new 6.3 release!
