kit 2
When upgrading from v6.0.12035.0 to v6.2.12007.0 of ESET File Security, I've noticed that ESET recommends a restart after the upgrade. This notification displays in the GUI of ESET, as well as a security notification in ERA. Since these are Servers, a restart isn't always convenient. Is a restart always going to be required when upgrading ESET File Security, or is this specific to this release? Is there any harm in not restarting right away? ESET Insiders rekun 41 Posted December 18, 2015 ESET Insiders Share Posted December 18, 2015 Almost all antivirus updates requires a reboot, as this is needed to replace the drivers. This is not specific to Eset. I have never experienced any issues when not rebooting right away, however I usually only update AV, when I have to reboot the servers anyways. Administrators Marcos 4,190 Posted January 1, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 1, 2016 Since old drivers are used with the new program version until you reboot the computer, we strongly recommend upgrading server products during a maintenance so that the server can be subsequently rebooted.
