Alith J 1
I can't get the Windows Mail app to work. It just won't sync with my Gmail. Some sites make reference to antivirus software being the issue. I tried disabling protection for 10 minutes without any success at syncing. Is there any known issues with Eset Nod32 antivirus? Administrators Marcos 4,720 Posted December 13, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2015 Do you have the latest version of EAV 9.0.349 installed? If not, just download ESET Live Installer from ESET's website and run it. I got Windows 10 Mail work with v9.0.349 on my system.
Alith J 1
I just realized there's a new version available. I'll install it and report back. Thanks.
Alith J 1
I just installed the latest version of EAV and I still can't get the Windows 10 Mail to work with my Gmail account. I think I'll have to wait for the next Windows 10 build to be released to work out the kinks in this one. Thanks
Administrators Marcos 4,720 Posted December 13, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 13, 2015 Could you please post a screen shot of the error message you're getting? Also try the following: - restart the computer - without launching any application, open the EAV setup - disable SSL/TLS scanning and click OK - enable SSL/TLS scanning and click OK - launch Mail application and try to reproduce the issue. Alith J 1
I get an error message about server when I try to attach pictures of screenshots. I got the same result when trying to use basic uploader. I tried adding Gmail thru the advanced setup in Windows 10 mail and get the error 0x80072726 Check your internet connection and account info and try again. When I tried just choosing Gmail as the email client without advanced set up I get a something went wrong error 0x 80040154
Administrators Marcos 4,720 Posted December 14, 2015 Administrators Share Posted December 14, 2015 Does temporarily disabling SSL/TLS scanning make a difference? What about switching update type to pre-release updates in the advanced update setup?
Alith 0
Disabling SSL/TLS scanning doesn't make a difference. Adjusting update to pre release doesn't help either. Pausing antivirus will enable me to sync my mail in Windows 10 mail. (I'm not getting notification of replies to this thread). Administrators Marcos 4,720 Posted January 20, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2016 What about temporarily disabling protocol filtering?
Alith J 1
Yes it works with that disabled temporarily. Doesn't that put my computer esp. email at risk? If it doesn't, is there a way to exclude just the Windows 10 mail from filtering?
Duluc 6
Suffering from the same problem. NOD32 is becoming more of a problem on Windows 10. I'm considering going with Defender. The beauty of NOD32 used to be that you don't have to worry about anything and even forgetting it's even installed at all. Please fix this. Alith 0
I really like NOD32 as well. I hope there's some fix for this issue.
Administrators Marcos 4,720 Posted January 22, 2016 Administrators Share Posted January 22, 2016 We'd need you to the following to help us troubleshoot the issue: - download and install Wireshark - disable protocol filtering - start capturing the communication in Wireshark and save the log - open the Mail application and receive email - stop capturing and save the log - close the Mail application - enable protocol filtering - enable advanced protocol filtering logging under Tools -> Diagnostics - start capturing the communication in Wireshark - reproduce the issue - stop logging (Wireshark and advanced protocol filtering logging) - collect logs using ESET Log Collector (hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3466/) Compress the 4 logs (2 Wireshark log + 2 pcapng logs from the C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\Diagnostics folder). Upload them to a safe location and drop me a pm with the download link as well the output from Log Collector.
