difference between force and apply in Eset ERA policies

Apply means you want something to take effect.

 

Force means you want something to take effect, and guarantee that it'll take effect even if a policy further down the list has a different status.

We are also currently working on some Knowledgebase articles that explain some task scenarios for when to use these (for instance, you should be careful using these because it can get confusing if there are a lot of policies you are using. The main thing to remember with this is that force will override any child policy and apply will block access to that setting on the client end.

The policies are prioritized the same way they were in 5 so the child always wins any setting conflict.
