Unable to update Smart security

I have version 8 running and when I try to update to 9 it starts the windows installer, then the Eset installer comes up, and then I get a message ESET could not be stopped and asks about admin priv.

I am the only user of this computer and confirmed that I am set as admin.

I tried to uninstall ESET but it does not show up in my control panel.

Any ideas what to try next?

Please follow the instructions in hxxp://support.eset.com/kb2289/ to remove v8 completely, then install v9 from scratch.
