Weety 6 Posted October 19, 2015 Share Posted October 19, 2015 Having re-installed ESET Cyber Security Pro yesterday (giving ESET's latest and greatest one last chance) I have encountered an issue joining new Wifi SSID's and Joining my iPhone's 'Hotspot' On trying to join them, ECSP does not prompt for a zone, or allow their use. The Wifi network icon just moves as though its trying to join, but the connection never completes. I even disabled ESCP Firewall and Realtime scanning, restarted ... same result. (The OS X firewall was disabled before installing ESCP, and is still disabled) Killing all ESCP daemons allows the Wifi SSID to be accessed This thus appears to be an issue with ESCP As such I've had to uninstall ECSP as being unsuitable for use Has anyone else seen this issue? TomasP unfortunately as I stated above, I've now de-installed ECSP as it's interfered with my ability to use the laptop while out and about I am unwilling to let it near my system for the next few months until a few fixes/modules are updated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It also prompts for zones immediately after connecting. In this case it may be best to get specialised help with this from Tomas if you are willing to reinstall it for a moment to collect the log files, or continue to wait until a number of issues are fixed which may help with yours (in particular the issues with esets_pfw). That is understandable, hopefully it's not too long. If you'd like, I can PM you when the next version is publicly released and I've confirmed the issues are resolved. What files are left behind after a uninstall? This is getting off topic, but quite a few things are left behind... (make sure to restart as well so other files not listed here are removed as well) /private/etc/pam.d/esets /Library/Application Support/ESET /Users/<user>/.esets /Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/com.eset.ecsp.6.plist /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpd/SDMHelpData/Other/English/HelpSDMIndexFile/com.eset.ecsp.6.help This is common, even when removing apps downloaded from the OS X App Store (caches, preferences are left behind). I noticed that it's likely intentional so some of your preferences and info (last scan, GUI options) can remain for future installs.
