Eset Smart Security 9 beta actually injects into Firefox.exe. I never could get Eset Smart Security 8 to inject into anything. I tried everything, but it never would inject into anything. It looks like this problem was fixed in Eset Smart Security 9. I hope it will inject into my other applications as well as I make rules for them.

IIRC, v8 relied solely on a kernel driver for the HIPS functionality. The only user mode injections were into supported email clients.

If v9 is indeed also using a user mode DLL, that would definitely add granularity and significantly harden the HIPS.

BTW, I always liked the GUI style used by Online Armour for both Firewall and HIPS. It was far more user friendly than ESET's implementation.
