ken1943 22 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I keep some old CCleaner updates on a D: partition. Did a smart scan and the all were flagged.
Administrators Marcos 5,443 Posted August 8, 2015 Administrators Posted August 8, 2015 I assume it's CCleaner which has some potentially unwanted application embedded. If so, it's not a false positive. Potentially unwanted applications are not malicious and the detection is optional.
ken1943 22 Posted August 8, 2015 Author Posted August 8, 2015 You are correct. Forgot about the PUPs in their installer. They donot show up on every install. I download one new new version, put it on a flash stick and install on 5 machines. The PUPs don't show on every install. Strange but true !!

FYI, you have two alternative downloads on this page: hxxp://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds Slim = has noting bundled in the installer. And a portable version. Personally I use the Slim.
