Renewal says not activated

Being a customer since 2008, I've had this problem every year.

 

So I 'renewed' and as such my username and password remain the same.

I follow the instructions and I still have the Orange triangle exclamation.

 

If it requires restarting, etc, why doesn't it say so???

 

Windows 8.1 64 bit, how do I get renewal to stick easily?

And if you're missing instructions on this will you promise to add them?

No you should not need to restart, I don't know how long time it normally should take for the renewal to sync with the license server and the product, but it could take between 10min to a few hours. It will sync eventually during one of the hourly VSD update checks.
