Unable to Update my Smart Security to 6.0.316.0

I have been trying to update the application itself using the Update tab, but every time I do an application update, there is always some sort of product update error. I have been trying to update ESET for the last month and havent been able to do so.  Does anyone know why this is happening? I am on Windows 8, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but previous updates haven't had any issues.

Try downloading the latest installer from ESET's website and installing it over the current version to see if it ends with an error, too.

If no progress is made, try to manually uninstall current product (hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2289) and then install a new version "from scratch".

 

ESETUninstaller never failed us! :-)

 

You may want to export settings first and then import them (hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3133); at least to avoid EAV-.. mumbo-jumbo :-)
