HIPS is blocking any download on any BROWSER, update virus definitions, and more.

I have ESET Antivirus 7 on MY HOME PC Win 8.1 I have problem updating the Antivirus to version 8, it almost came to 99% and then is a error. I have the same problem with the Virus Definitions, I then disabled HIPS and try like 3 times turning off HTTP Proxy on the update settings and I could update the definitions. With HIPS turne on I still have problems with any browser downloading anything, cclener, try NVIDIA drivers, almost all downloads stucks at 99% or the download is interrupted, these all happens with any browser, I tried uninstalling ESET Antivirus like 4 times, tried with ESET SMART SECURITY, tried with ESET ENDPOINT, I even TRIED reinstall Win 8.1 with keeping my apps, files, and folder, so the registry will be clean, and the problems is still there. I used on others laptops and PC ESET antivirus and never have a problem. The problem is on MY PC from HOME. When I uninstall ESET and activates Windows Defender everything works perfect, can download anything and works OK. What can I DO? I don't want to USE Windows Defender, because I love how ESET protects the PC. By the way the endpoint 6 the desing is beautiful. Cheers! HIPS has nothing to do with download. Does temporarily disabling protocol filtering make a difference?

Disabling protocol filtering help with the email clients like MAIL APP from Win8.1 (now the pics on the email loads fine), and the downloads on the browser now work sometimes, but surfing the WEB sometime loads, sometimes not, pages using flash plugins or macromedia doesn't work. I can download the ESET Antivirus update 8 from within the application and installed ok, but the problem still exist on the version 8 too.

Hello, I turned off almost all option and disabled all the protection only HIPS is on, and sill have problems downloading. What day are you free to remote in on the PC to check? Cheers

I Tried disabling only HIPS, and same problem, I tried disabling ALL option and works a little better oth the downloads, but still block MACROMEDIA STREAM VIDEO, and site start to load slower, So I tried uninstall one more time, after restart Windows Defenders takes on, and everything works normal.

 

I tried all FLASH, STREAMS, and everything is fine with all the browsers, Mozilla, Chrome, Explorer, Dragon, Opera.

 

Then tried to install again ESET, and same problem. These thing is driving me crazy I even tried to uninstall with REVO Uninstaller a program that's special for uninstalling programs that after uninstalling tries to see if some leftover files, and search the registry to for ESET leftovers, so it´s find some quarantine items, and some APPDATA ESET folder, I clean all.

 

So after uninstalling and cleaning with REVO, I tried one more time installed ESET again and same problem.

 

I don't know what can I try anymore!

 

Something is messing with ESET or ESET is messing with HTTP traffics, and something else.

 

Please what can we do?

Once you have disabled protocol filtering in EAV, ESET will no longer intervene in http communication. However, you replied that it didn't help much, in particular: "surfing the WEB sometime loads, sometimes not, pages using flash plugins or macromedia doesn't work."

 

Perhaps we could arrange a remote session so that I can check it out myself.

im getting interruptions in download too

as far as I can see , the only additional logs are HIPS too (what is HIPS)

no other logs have been updated

im trying to download a trainer ( cheat ) for a game , from a site I trust because I know the owner (purely for testing ) - I downloaded this specific trainer in the past (a few ESET updates back)

I tried multiple browsers
I talked to the site admin and they haven't changed any routing equipment or anything like that

Is the file detected? If not, does disabling web protection or protocol filtering help? If not, what about disabling HIPS followed by a computer restart?
