Administrators Marcos 5,407 Posted April 14, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 14, 2015 By default, the update interval is set to 60 minutes and cannot be shortened. If you used the all-in-one installer and installed Apache HTTP Proxy, the proxy will be configured automatically when installing agents on clients. After you've installed Endpoint v6 on clients, they will download updates through the proxy which will cache downloaded files for further use by other clients. My plan is to install Apache HTTP Proxy and Squid3 on same machine (virtual appliance). Will this information be in "All-in-one installer" installation only or will it set this value in policy for agent and client?
sharabasy 0
ok but i don't want to shortened the interval, i want to make it every 12 hours or 8 hours, i want to control it, i found very useful page explain how to install and configure proxy http on ERA 6 hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3637&viewlocale=en_US i install the apache http proxy and create the police, the next step to know how to deploy the update in certain hours like from 2 to 4 pm deploy update if I can't then to be every 8 hours,
jimwillsher 65
So if ESET reslease a new definition that protects against a zero-day attack (they often release several definitions per day), you want your clients to remain unprotected for 8-12 hours ????? sharabasy 0
Most of our clients have no internet access or USB or CD only work on the intranet internally. that is why I don't want more traffic on our network, beside the VOIP and CAM servers, so we try to minimize the traffic as we can on the network. I want someone to show me how to update the virus DB on the server and how to change the interval. by the way the client is protected even if they get virus DB update every 12 or 8 horus. Administrators Marcos 5,407 Posted April 20, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 20, 2015 You can configure the policy applied on clients to edit the default update task and change the interval from 60 minutes to whatever you want (e.g. 720 minutes for 12 hour-intervals). Note that the less frequently clients will download updates, the bigger updates will be downloaded later.
