Apache HTTP Proxy for Linux

Recommended Posts

Hi, i've looking for some information about installation process of Apache HTTP proxy on linux but i cant find anything. Is there any manual about this? The package I've downloaded from eset site is prepared for use in Windows. I think there should be no issues about running proxy under appache in any other operating system. It's a bit silly to run this proxy under windows where there is Virtual Appliance based on CentOS. Thanks. Marty

Open the terminal window, navigate to /opt/httpd-2.4.12/bin and start "sh apachectl -k start". Iptables should be edited to allow communication on port 3128.

Hi, thanks for reply. I know about this, I've already read it. But i think to install this apache HTTP proxy on other server like fresh installed linux or for example our web server, where is already apache installed. I'am usually using Debian distro for our servers. Is there any way how to move this proxy from Virtual Appliance to any other linux distro? Thanks.

I've built a debian squid3 server. It's running for the last couple of days with no issues.

The idea is to deploy it to our clients that have >15 endpoints.

Anyone who's interested, just give me a shout  :)
