Do ESET license timers start when you buy license now, not after activation?

I just saw someone comment thagt ESET license countdown timers start when you buy them, not when you activate them, like before. Is this true?

Reason I ask is, I usually buy one or two from NewEgg Black Friday sales, and use as needed. They've always worked for a year after activation, no matter how long I wait to activate, has that changed?

Unless things have changed, Newegg used to e-mail a license key after purchase. The license timer would not start until this license key was activated.

However if Newegg is now e-mailing a license verification e-mail instead, the license would have been activated at purchase time.

BTW - Eset licenses are now 50% reduced in price if purchased from Eset U.S. eStore web site.

They are still just emailing a license key, so I'm assuming it's good until I actually activate it, like always. I saw a person comment that they don't 'stack' like they used to, whatever that means, and he said the countdown starts at time of purchase. Maybe if purchased directly from ESET, but like you said, from NewEgg, it doesn't. I just bought two more, so was making sure.
