Hello,

Just before to start, sorry for my English I’m not fluent.

I would like some informations about Eset and GPO.

I tried to install ESET Endpoint Antivirus 5.0.2229 via GPO, and that’s works perfectly. But the problem is, I already installed the antivirus via the Remote Administrator console on some computers. And when the GPO is apply, she install again the antivirus on these computers …

I don't understand why ? I thought when your computer already has the antivirus (same version), the GPO is not going to install it again.

Do you know why ?

Thanks.

Hello,

the GPO will not check if the SW is already installed.

I would suggest you to deploy all Endpoints with the same method or to split them into some logical groups and deploy on the groups based on the method, which is more feasible for the particular group.

As Peter said, a GPO will only check if that GPO has been deployed already, it won't check if the software has been installed by ther means. That's why a GPO has a "redeploy" option - it resets the "I've been desployed" flag.
