alan1476 0 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Are these detections serious, and how do I get rid of them? Quote
itman 1,807 Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Eset is detecting a vulnerable Win kernel mode driver that appears to be used by SuperAntiSpyware. Refer to this related thread: https://forum.eset.com/topic/40479-inpoutx64sys-potentially-dangerous-application/ . alan1476 1 Quote

However, the vulnerable inpoutx64.sys issue has nothing to do with this since nVidia GPU doesn't use this driver. Also as far as I am aware of, no related nVidia software; e.g. GeForce Experience, uses the driver. Eset is triggering an alert for SuperAntispyware using inpoutx64.sys. If there is not a recent version of SuperAntispyware available that doesn't use a vulnerable driver, you will have to uninstall SuperAntispyware. If this doesn't remove the inpoutx64.sys driver, you will have to so manually. Edited November 14 by itman alan1476 1 Quote
alan1476 0 Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 Thanks again for all your attention to this, but the problem has vanished ever since I updated the Nvidia driver that came out two days ago. I looked at the date of installation of that bad driver and it the same date that I updated the old Nvidia driver.,, I updated to the new ones this morning and the issue seems to be resolved. I will keep you updated. Quote
itman 1,807 Posted November 14 Posted November 14 (edited) Per Google; Quote Inpoutx64.sys is an open-source driver used by Tobii Pro Lab to transmit TTL output signals through parallel ports. It's not directly related to NVIDIA driver updates. It is also know as a RBG support driver and is used by motherboard manufacturers such as MSI to control fan, keyboard, etc. lighting. As noted here https://connect.tobii.com/s/article/TTL-InpOut?language=en_US , the latest version of Tobi software no longer uses the Inpoutx64.sys driver. Instructions are given in the article on how to manually remove the vulnerable driver ; Quote A vulnerability has been identified in a third-party driver that could potentially lead to privilege escalation on Microsoft Windows systems. The driver inpoutx64.sys is an open-source 64-bit driver used by Tobii Pro Lab to transmit TTL output signals through old-fashioned (antiquated) parallel ports. In response to this, we have introduced critical security enhancements in Tobii Pro Lab 1.232. This version, and all subsequent releases, will not include the inpoutx64.sys driver in the installation package. We strongly urge all Tobii Pro Lab users to promptly upgrade to version 1.232. Please be aware that Tobii Pro Lab versions 1.217 and earlier will still include the inpoutx64.sys driver in the installer. If you are using one of these older versions and have no need for the driver, we strongly advise you to remove it manually. Detailed uninstallation steps are provided below. Neglecting to remove the driver will leave your Windows system in a vulnerable state (due to the associated security risk with the inpoutx64.sys driver). Edited November 14 by itman Quote
