COStark26 10 Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) (see Signature for my Apps) Started last week only ... my EssentialPIM mail app (at opening) is - only SOMETIMES - giving me the Popup - [ Cannot Auto-Chk Updates - Chk your App Version ] - AND a HELP/Manual Update Check (Always) gives a Quick "Connect Timed-Out" popup. EPIM admin asked me to Check Firewall settings for Blocking this EPIM Update Checker. I'm a default FW setup and can only ask IF anyone knows of a recent (FW) Update that might cause this - OR - a Setting change I might Test with? Many Thanks as always! Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 11 Administrators Posted November 11 I would recommend raising a support ticket if you can reproduce the issue and create advanced logs, or consider creating a path-based rule instead of the certificate-based one. Quote
COStark26 10 Posted November 11 Author Posted November 11 Thanks, Marcos. Ref the "Random" nature of the Popup AT Opening .... it is hard to time a look (PLUS WHAT to look for) ....BUT the Help / Manual Update Check ... ALWAYS nets "Connect Times-Out". THAT would be my only hope for a Ticket to matter. Eset HELP / Search "Advanced Logging" nets -0-. Will I setup Advanced logging and do a Manual EPIM Check for Updates and submit That. HOW do I setup Advanced Logging .... OR what's a ....Link for Instructions> Thanks! Quote
COStark26 10 Posted November 11 Author Posted November 11 Found Advanced Logging and am preparing to Start a Ticket with --- EpfwLog.pcapng ---Attachment Thanks! Quote
Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 11 Administrators Posted November 11 I don't know what logs will be needed. Basic ELC logs should be enough to start with, then provide the stuff requested by developers and tech support in a ticket. Quote
COStark26 10 Posted November 11 Author Posted November 11 TKT Request just ack'd by email. Will await Requests from them. Thanks! Quote
COStark26 10 Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 Sppt emailed KBs for Detection Exclusion and FW Rules. I Detection Excluded the Entire Program File(x86) Folder = Popup still. I made a FW Rule for -- EssentialPIM.exe - Allow Both ways and - ANY - for Local and Remote Hosts & Ports = Popups Still. Phone Sppt suggested UNINSTALL .... to PROVE if ESET is Involved = Popups Still = Not the cause. DOES CONTROL PANEL UNINSTALL work for this .... OR MUST I go thru Dnload Uninstaller, AND deal with maybe Losing Netwk Drivers & Settings, and Safe Mode Uninstall, etc. Thanks for any Help! Quote

IF Uninstaller Tool IS requ'd AND I lose Network Drivers ... will I just Rt Clk the Adapter line below and Clk Update Driver? I Saved the Network Settings in case but may as well ask Now IF Uninstaller is requd. Quote
Solution COStark26 10 Posted November 13 Author Solution Posted November 13 An EPIM Update to Ver 12.1 netted Successful Manual Check for Updates vs prior Popups. Only 4 app openings so far but No Popups yet - Presumed FIXED w/ v12.1. Quote
