Coen 0 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 i have eset theft protection activated on a laptop when starting up my machine i noticed the phantom account being visible for login (wrongfully) i thought "what would happen if i log into the phantom account i did - and this was the start of all the problems this did not allow me to go anywhere - then i tried restarting and this resulted in it automatically going to the phantom account login screen with NO option to switch user in the mean time i received notifiations that there is possible fraudulent activity - i marked the machine as safe on the eset app - yet this just resulted in a endless loop - every time i start the machine - then i only have the phantom accont login which result the eset app to flag it, then i say it is safe - and around we go i then did the wrong thing (i found out afterwards) - i removed the machine on the eset app as a theft protected device now i am completely stuck from the forums it appears i now need admin from eset to help - how do i initiate this help ???? please Quote
Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 4 Administrators Posted November 4 It doesn't look like that Anti-Theft was activated or it was associated with a different email address than your ESET Home account. Please raise a support ticket for further assistance with troubleshooting this issue. Coen 0 Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 The Anti-Theft was activated. It was not associated with a different email address. I cant log into the Laptop with the Phantom account because it ask for a PASSWORD which i didn't set up. I have no way to get into or onto the laptop. when i log into Eset Home Account on another laptop, it shows there in RED : 1 device needs your immediate attention, it does show the laptop when but not way to activate the activation key Eset Phantom Acc Problem.pdf Quote

Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 8 Administrators Posted November 8 The phantom account doesn't ask for a password as it would defeat its purpose - to allow a thief to log in seamlessly and thus trigger suspicious activity. I would recommend raising a support ticket as it's hard to troubleshoot it via this forum. Quote

Administrators Marcos 5,468 Posted November 9 Administrators Posted November 9 According to what I can see, you don't have Anti-Theft associated with your ESET HOME email address cXXXXXXXXXXXXXX4@gmail.com: If you are referring to the HP device, it reports ESET as not activated so Anti-Theft could not be active either. Or am I missing something? Quote
