After we deployed the new version of Eset V8 on our macs we noticed that Screenshare (Airplay) and Airdrop stopped working.

The fix (for us) for this was to apply an addition to an existing policy or create a new policy which ensures all applications signed by Apple are allowed.

The easiest way to ensure Apple services such as AirPrint and AirPlay work is to create a firewall rule that allows all Apple Communication and then ensure it is at the top of the firewall priority list.
If you have a policy used on the endpoints via Protect for firewall control (Endpoint for macOS V7+), go into Protections and then Network Protection and create a new firewall rule, and select Application with the settings for Application Signature to Signed by a specific signer and enter in the name of signer Apple.
Once created open the More filters option in the Rules, and then select the created rule at the bottom and move it to the top. Save and apply to a macOS endpoint.

Yes, you are right.

Default firewall configuration for business product is more restrictive comparing to firewall used in home version ECSM 8.2.800.0. A business admin has to decide what services he wants to allow users in his company network, ESET could not make this decision for him. Every admin has his own unique demands on network security and allowed services in it.

Default configuration is as secure as possible and admin must tweak firewall configuration to his requirements.
