PowerOfSecurity 0
Greetings, ever since we needed to rollout a module update due to the google.com issue a few weeks ago, our ESET product has been detecting the Sky Go.exe application as a trojan. After researching, all I could find was that Bitdefender does so too and its most certainly a false positive, but how come nobody has come across this issue with ESET? Is there a reason for it being this way, or...? From what I could gather, there were no indicators for the Sky Go Application being a trojan or any kind of malware for that matter, though I can absolutely understand that ESET might be detecting it due to all the data collection it does in the background. Administrators Marcos 5,407 Posted October 22 Administrators Share Posted October 22 I was able to find a couple of such files but none was detected. Please provide logs collected with ESET Log Collector.
itman 1,789
A few reasons why Eset might find the app suspicious; Quote Sky Go.exe is able to manipulate other programs, record keyboard and mouse inputs and monitor applications. Therefore the technical security rating is 60% dangerous. https://www.file.net/process/sky go.exe.html
PowerOfSecurity 0
Different sources say that it's unable to record mouse and keyboard inputs. Some day it is, so how reliable is the information given? VirusTotal does not detect anything either when scanning the hash.
garioch7 5
@PowerOfSecurity, Did you provide the logs that @Marcos requested? @itman informed you why ESET "might find the app suspicious." He provided a link to verify his opinion, but you have not disclosed your "different sources." My limited experience on these Forums leads me to conclude that both of those very senior members are very committed to assisting ESET customers. However, regardless of the product and the Forum, it is always necessary to work with the experts and provide the information they requested so that they can assist you in resolving your issue. Just my personal opinion. Have a great day. Regards, Phil

There is absolutely no mention of the application being capable of recording mouse and keystrokes anywhere else besides file.net. However, we have resolved the issues internally, so the topic may be closed.
