ESET CyberSecurity for macOS version 8.2.800.0 has been released

ESET CyberSecurity for macOS 8.2.800.0 has been released and is available to download.
ESET CyberSecurity also replaces the former ESET CyberSecurty Pro and now contains the firewall (license based) with other features, such as Web Control and Device Control to be added later.

Known issues

• Only simple firewall settings are migrated during product upgrade from V6 ECS6M. Simple means that application rule in V6 is created for inbound or outbound connection without enhancing specifications. Complex rules are not migrated because home firewall of v8.2 is not able to show it in user UI. User must check FW rules after migrating from V6 if new rule set meets his security criteria. In most case, not migrated rules won't be required because of different default firewall rules used by home firewall of v8.2.

• Unwanted interaction of home firewall with some 3rd party application if application was installed using Appstore and is using localhost incoming connections. We currently identify this problem only for  Messenger by Meta Platform.

• Unwanted interaction of home firewall with some 3rd party application if application is using localhost incoming connections. We currently identify this problem only for Gradle.

• Unable to simply block Safari on older macOS, 13 and older.

• Some user settings are not migrated during upgrade from released ECS of version 7.

• Error logs in product event table about that logging servis in unable to print some firewall logs

• Error logs in product event table about that child process did not handle signal 15 and child be restarted.

• Previous version of V7.1 or 7.2 wrongly migrates TSN RTP settings from V6. If the user upgrade V6 to previous V7.1 or 7.2 build, we highly recommend to install 8.0 build or newer, open RTP TSN 'For all file operations' settings and turn off Advanced heuristic. This setting was wrongly set to On by migration from V6.

• Proxy password is not encrypted in configuration dump 'cfg --dump' made under root user.

• V6 offline activation is not migrated to v7+ during product upgrade
