Traveler 0
ESET email notifications have never worked here. Email server info can be set, but test emails never complete. ESET reports no errors, and ESET never alerts me if it actually detects something. Only if I’m at the computer can I see any alert pop-ups, and then there still are no log entries to search to find what disappeared from my screen. I opened a support case with ESET, but all they replied with were generic URLs to remove PUA’s and nothing at all that answered the problem I reported. Anyone found a solution for this critical problem?
thae 14
I don't use the home product, but in the business product I have to select in the policy, or in the program, which events should show in the GUI and if an E-Mail should be sent. Can you check if these events are set to send an E-Mail?
Administrators Marcos 5,397 Posted October 16 Administrators Share Posted October 16 There must be either a problem with the SMTP server configuration, authorization, the SMTP server itself or with a firewall blocking the outbound SMTP communication. I've made a test with ESET Security Premium and received an alert about the eicar test file: If a threat was detected by it must be logged in the Detections log or in the On-demand scanner logs, depending on what scanner detected it. My email clients, cameras, and scanners, all use SMTP successfully on a daily basis. ESET, however, never connects and never provides an error message to show why it doesn't work. Administrators Marcos 5,397 Posted October 16 Administrators Share Posted October 16 Are you getting an error when attempting to test the connection?

No. That was what my support request was all about. If ESET is seeing an error from the SMTP server, or connect attempt, I need to see it so I can fix it (if it's on my end). Administrators Marcos 5,397 Posted October 21 Administrators Share Posted October 21 I'd recommend raising a support ticket. We'll need a test account on your mail server for further investigation.
