Administrators Marcos 5,277 Posted September 29 Administrators Share Posted September 29 The said url is associated with a potentially unwanted application. If you want to use it, you can exclude the PUA and add the url to the url allowlist in the Web access protection -> URL management setup. pipes 4
Got this email from Drivereasy; Thanks for posting for us. Recently, we've found that ESET Smart Security is blocking Driver Easy from working properly. We have reported this false positive to the ESET team and are awaiting their response. However, we haven't received a response even several emails have been sent. Please don't worry. Driver Easy is certified by both Norton (https://trustsealinfo.websecurity.norton.com/splash?form_file=fdf/splash.fdf&dn=www.drivereasy.com&lang=en) and AppEsteem (https://customer.appesteem.com/certified?vendor=EASET). It doesn't carry any viruses. We're also investigating this problem. In the meantime, please follow these steps to exclude our website from Web Access Protection on your ESET product: https://support.eset.com/en/kb6993-unblock-a-safe-website-on-an-individual-workstation-in-eset-endpoint-products Note: In Step 5, add *.drivereasy.com to the exclusion list. Alternatively, we suggest temporarily disabling the ESET software when using Driver Easy. This should allow you to continue using our application without interference. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work towards a resolution. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best regards, Yuki Technical Support Driver Easy
Administrators Marcos 5,277 Posted September 30 Administrators Share Posted September 30 It is not a false positive, the classification as a potentially unwanted application is correct (optional detection). You can create a detection exclusion if you want to use it while keeping PUA detection enabled. garioch7
pipes 4
I have included PAU exclusion. Would like to know the reason, could it be it's from China?
itman 1,751
Eset definition of what a PUA is: https://help.eset.com/glossary/en-US/unwanted_application.html
pipes 4
I know what it means, why is Eset blocking it ? Been without a block for about 6 months, just the past week it got blocked. Malwarebytes and certified by both Norton (https://trustsealinfo.websecurity.norton.com/splash?form_file=fdf/splash.fdf&dn=www.drivereasy.com&lang=en) and AppEsteem. No website blocking by these 3 players.

I don't think so. Do you mean a subscription for the PUA in question or ESET? Asking since our PUA detection / classification is correct and we provide you with an option to exclude the PUA from detection if you want to use it anyways. garioch7
