danmax 0
Hello. I am new to the forum but have had NOD32 for many years. I was in the process of transferring to a new (not brand new) PC, and in the process of downloading, ESET kept popping up. Whenever ESET pops something up I always obey it (ie clean it, block it, etc). I know I must have screwed something up because now I am not able to access certain apps, notably Computer Management in Administrative Tools. A red box pops up and says "this app has been blocked for your protection mmc.exe." I tried to Run as Administrator and I am still blocked So I enabled the hidden windows administrator account and have now problems bringing up Computer Management using that account.. Has any body else seen this, or have any advice? Many thanks! Dan

danmax 0
Hi Marcos, Thanks for your reply. My machine does not have windows defender smart screen. I only have windows defender firewall with advanced security. I feel certain that I did something wrong when ESET kept popping up about threats and potentially bad programs. I was downloading a program from EaseUS, as I have done so in the past without issue. I know I must have clicked something from ESET wrong because my issues began immediately after that (red box with message "this app has been blocked for your protection mmc.exe." Oh, one more thing. Where does my post live as I don't see it in the ESET NOD32 forum. Thanks a million Marcos, Dan
danmax 0
OK, I admit I am such a newbie. I downloaded a driver/update in Windows Update, and the issue went away. I no longer need to mess with this. Thanks for being there to help out though! Dan
