About 15 minutes ago ESET endpoint antivirus started blocking mail.google.com, play.google.com and possibly others, with a message Address has been blocked.

Why and is this really necessary and we have to add exceptions for google now?

Please try again. It was indeed FP, it should be fixed now as confirmed also by other users.
